PC 2000 is a large seismic survey library that consists of 100,000 line km 2D data and 3,250 km2 3D data. The survey covers the Iranian part of the Persian Gulf and Gulf of Oman. The survey was acquired under an exclusive agreement with the National Iranian Oil Company (NIOC) and the total investment between 1999 and 2005 was more than USD 100 million.
The Persian Gulf is located in the region with the largest petroleum potential in the world. The PC-2000 (Persian Carpet) is one of the largest Multi Client 2D surveys ever undertaken. PC 2000 covers the entire offshore Iran in the Persian Gulf and the Oman Sea. The PC 2000 has been collected in exclusive partnership with the National Iranian Oil Company (NIOC), and the data has so far been licensed to 18 oil and gas companies.
The PC 2000 seismic database covers the entire Iranian offshore with a 2x2 km seismic grid. These data will serve as the main tool in all future exploration offshore Iran. The library consists of a total of 90,700 line kilometers of standard offshore library, 11,700 Lkm of shallow water as well as 3,600 Lkm of Transition Zone. In addition the library consists of 3,250 sq.km of 3D (Pseudo 3D) data. The Pseudo-3D projects was completed over structures with a very high potential i.e. the F and G structures located less than 100 km to the Northwest of South Pars, -the world’s largest gas/condensate field.
GGS offers high quality interpretation of all PC 2000 data at low cost. Most of the data has been interpreted by senior staff at Robertson Research , with long experience in the Middle-East. The interpretation is supplied in digital format, easily imported into any interpretation software as well as maps at a 1:250.000 scale.
The data has been compiled into 6 separate databases for convenience. Key information includes: main tops in depth (time) + logs when available.
Numerous undrilled structures and stratigraphic prospects have been found from preliminary interpretation of the PC 2000 seismic data.
